In case you missed Monday’s blog post, I’m running a Holiday Sale right now on the .PDF downloads of Chapters 1 and 2 of The Moose Riders! If you buy both chapters, just use the discount code 1dollar2books when you check out and it’ll take $1 off of the total, giving you both chapters for the price of one. Cool, right?

Adding this blog post hours after the page went up. Working two weeks ahead right now–I usually upload the page to the blog as soon as it’s finished but don’t always write a post to accompany it until later, so sometimes I forget about the accompanying jibber-jabber completely.

Not sure about the overlapping shouts of the parents. Trying to strike a balance between clarity for the readers’ sake and confusion for the sake of establishing mood. I think more confusion is probably the way to go, so there may be a revision posted later–more overlapping words, maybe smaller letters, too.

BTW–going to have a Christmas sale on the digital downloads for Chapters 1 and 2 starting next week. A buy one/get one free kind of a thing. So if you are giving someone a Kindle Fire for Christmas, you can pre-load it with the first two Chapters of the Moose Riders in .PDF format for only $1! Cool, right? Also, I’ll let the sale run past Christmas so that if you get that fancy new iPad from Santa, you’ll be able to take advantage of this deal on Boxing Day. I’m a giver.

Edit: Just tweaked the lettering a bit.

No blog update last Friday, so trying to come up with something today. Hmm.

I like rabbits. When my wife and I were dating, I wrote/illustrated a story where we (and our friends) were rabbits, moles, and other woodland critters. I’m a bit embarrassed by the art now, but I think that’s a good thing. If 20 years from now I look back at the Moose Riders and think my art/storytelling is primitive, then that can only mean I’m improving, right?

Although, George Lucas looked back at the original trilogy and saw things that needed fixing, so maybe that’s not a good thing.

Eh.

So last weekend sucked all kinds of ass.

Anyhow, Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. Hope you have a good one, full of food, family, and football. To all of you who are just celebrating Thursday tomorrow…you know what? I hope you also have a day full of food, family, and football. Unless you don’t like football. But still, eat something and appreciate your family and all that.

Feels good finishing two pages a week, but it’s a bit more stress/pressure, and I’m not really sure that there’s much benefit. The pacing problems that existed with the page-a-week schedule still remain. It just reads better 30 pages at a time instead of 1 page per sitting, whether that sitting is once-a-week or twice-a-week. Still, it’ll be nice to get the chapter wrapped up a bit quicker this time around.

I have plumbing plans for tonight. Not looking forward to it.

Happy Halloween! Get scared and eat candy.

No promises, but I’m trying to get into a 2 page/week schedule starting next week. The b/w flashback sequences go a bit quicker than the full-color painted pages, so I think it might be do-able. This experiment might fail completely, but I feel like I should at least give it a shot. Page 66 will go up next Wednesday, and if the Force is with me, you’ll see page 67 next Friday.
